Voidplane Alpha 2.0 Map Update Released!


Hello everyone and welcome to the first devlog for Voidplane! Here I'm going to be telling you all about the new features introduced in this new update!

MAP UPDATE

The map received a huge overhaul, as I felt like the old one felt a little boring and difficult to traverse. Instead of the map consisting of a few small islands and three giant spires scattered around in the ocean, the new map now includes two large islands with massive grassy and stony hills to bounce off of. The base also got a minor overhaul, now having supports instead of just a random slab in the middle of the map. Here's an image of the old map so you can compare it with the new one.


ENEMY


The game now has a prototype enemy! This blue capsule will follow you around the map for a while until it bugs out. As of right now that is all it does, but like I said, this is only a prototype. Currently working on it.

UI UPDATE


It is now easier to tell what on earth this weird cube is. It now reads health above the stationary health bar and once it goes down to zero, it will interact with the game. However, instead of a death screen you will be greeted with your mouse. Currently I'm struggling a little bit with the death screen since I'm not used to the coding language yet, but I think I should have it fixed relatively soon.
